The first step towards attaining this goal is to rekindle hockey fervor and start to aim for an Olympic gold in 2012. All India need is a well laid out plan and follow it. They should start doing it from now and not just 2 or 6 months before the Olympics. The most important thing that administrators could do is just leave sports as it is and not turn them into politics. Hockey Players should stop complaining about the amount of coverage that cricket gets and start playing hockey, show their ability and get media their way. India should never forget that hockey is a national game and its a shame that we couldn't even qualify to this time. Its high time to bring hockey to its former glory before people of the new generation start to totally ignore and its lost for ever only to be looked as a thing of past. Indian Hockey Federation could do a much better job, there is lot of talent that needs to be unearthed. Go and start digging before its too late.
